The hauntingly gripping and well-produced Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath returns for a second season to the Crime+Investigation (DStv 170) channel on Wednesday 18 October at 20:00 and this season episodes in South Africa are being shown much closer to the American broadcasting date.
The second season started in August in America and has 10 episodes and 4 special episodes.
The first season also had 2 special episodes but Crime+Investigation didn't show those to DStv subscribers in South Africa and Africa.
It's not known if Crime+Investigation will be showing the 4 new special episodes on DStv for the second season.
The 10 hourlong episodes will further explore harrowing and extremely emotional first-hand accounts of former Scientology members whose lives have been destroyed by the secretive organisation.
Leah Remini as well as other former high-ranking Scientology insiders continue to delve into stories of abuse and heartbreak, with the second season of Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath that looks at growing up in Scientology's paramilitary organisation, The Sea Org, and the Oscar-winner filmmaker Paul Haggis' sharing his own harrowing personal journey of how he first recruited people for Scientology and how and why he left.
The second season has episodes looking at how children were treated and sexually abused inside Scientology as people who are now adults share their stories, the ever-elusive "Operating Thetan (OT) levels", and the rise of mysterious leader David Miscavige.
The well-produced docu-series won an Emmy in September for the first season.
