SABC News journalist and cameraman attacked in Tshitavha, Limpopo trying to cover protests over human body parts harvesting.


A TV news crew from the SABC's SABC News division has again been attacked in Limpopo while trying to cover protests - this time over human body parts being harvested at Tshitavha village outside Thohoyandou.

SABC News reports that a SABC News journalist and a cameraman were assaulted by a group of furious protestors.

"Some of the journalists have been attacked by the protestors and as the police, we condemn this action in the strongest possible terms and we'll take action against anyone who makes himself or herself guilty of this particular acts of violence," said Motlafela Mojapelo, police spokesperson.

"We  urge all our communities to refrain from acts of violence perpetrated against journalists and any other person".
