eNCA remains the TV channel news leader on DStv in South Africa with ANN7, SABC News, CNBC Africa and the rest trailing very far behind.

eNCA (DStv 403) remains the uncontested TV news channel leader when it comes to massive audience size and share in South Africa on DStv - pulling in more viewers daily, monthly and during prime time on MultiChoice's satellite pay-TV platform than SABC News (DStv 404) and ANN7 (DStv 405), in fact, raking in a bigger audience share than all of the other TV news channels on DStv combined.

At the other end of the spectrum is the little watched CNBC Africa (DStv 410) - probably not a surprise given the complete lack of any type of programming information or scheduling publicity. With nobody really knowing what's showing on CNBC Africa or when, CNBC Africa only gets a paltry 2% audience share.

The audience share figure above is for June 2014 from the Arianna system, measuring Monday to Sunday, from 06:00 to 23:00, showing that eNCA far outranks all of the other TV news channels in South Africa when it comes to viewers, share, and where people prefer to watch their 24-hour TV news.

In a distant second place is SABC News (DStv 404) which turned one year old on 1 August with 17% audience share, followed by Sky News (DStv 402) with 11%.

ANN7 (DStv 405) which will turn one year old on 21 August later this month, comes in at 4th place with a small 7% of the total audience, and then CNN International with 6%.

Smaller TV news channels like Al Jazeera, BBC World News and CNBC Africa are barely watched, respectively getting a 4%, 3% and 2% of the total viewing audience.
