Massive mess as technically marred 2013 Daytime Emmy Awards in America rivals South Africa's Saftas and AfricaMagic Viewers' Choice Awards as terrible television.

The 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the United States, broadcast live on Sunday, degenerated into a terrible trashcast filled with myriad mistakes and containing the litany of technical production faults exactly the same as South Africa's amateur and shoddily-produced 7th South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas) on the SABC and M-Net's highly-embarrassing AfricaMagic Viewers' Choice Awards 2013 both held in March.

2013's 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on the HLN channel (which is a sister channel of CNN) was littered with all of the same unacceptable and pathetic production problems South African viewers were subjected to in March in the cheap looking 7th South African Film and Television Awards and the badly done junior production AfricaMagic Viewers' Choice Awards 2013.

Unlike South African and African viewers who don't demand better than awful award shows, American viewers refuse to accept unacceptably low production values.

They instantly started fuming about the television trash which included a presenter being handed the wrong winner's envelope, the "F" word live on air, open mic audio left on and presenters heard bantering and panicking backstage multiple times, mics turned completely off when they were supposed to be on, bad shots, bad camera angles, missed cues, audio problems and video clips not being played.

Just like the Saftas and the AfricaMagic Viewers' Choice Awards the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards ran 35 minutes over time - another hallmark of trashproduced award shows. One Twitterer called the show "must watch train wreck TV".

The 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards also introduced a "winner's couch" where winners were interviewed afterwards. It added no insight with lame duck filler moments and was such a bore that the audience didn't even listen and one presenter had to shout: "Okay, you guys. Listen! She’s saying something from the heart here!" during one couch interview.

When Corbin Bernsen paid tribute to his mother Jeanne Cooper of The Young and the Restless soap who died last month he said his mother would have said this of the In Memoriam segment: "Oh shit, I'm on the in memoriam list? And what is up with this ridiculous couch? At least I made the f- g list." The expletives were not bleeped.
