UNDER THE HAMMER. The Wild on M-Net goes on auction: all sets, backstage equipment - even artwork - getting sold off Saturday.

You're reading it here first.

"Grab a piece of history": All the sets and backstage equipment of M-Net's failed soap The Wild is getting dumped on auction this coming Saturday with the sale of items which will likely bring in a few rand to recoup some of the money M-Net had spent on the soap which will be broadcasting its final episodes at the end of this month.

Furniture, appliances, sets, catering equipment and even artwork from The Wild will come under the hammer on Saturday, 9 March in Midrand at 10:30.

People will be able to bid on a wide array of things used in the production of the soap - behind-the-scenes as well as what was seen on the show - such as furniture, artwork adorning the walls and even accessories.

With the soap's closure M-Net is getting rid of all sets and backstage equipment of The Wild with Aucor Movables having a viewing before Saturday's auction on Friday, 8 March, from 09:00 until 16:00.

Park homes, production crew offices, all furniture, appliances, artwork from set houses, catering equipment and vehicles such as a Defender, Range Rover, BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW 750, bakkies, runabouts and even a mini-van which was used for The Wild are up for grabs.

People who are interested can contact 011 237 4444.

UPDATE Wednesday 6 March 2013 21:45: M-Net says the vehicles which will be on the auction on Saturday are not a part of The Wild's production and is part of what is called a supplementary auction taking place on the same day.
