M-Net: The vehicles to be auctioned off on the day of the auction of The Wild on Saturday are not part of the TV production.

M-Net wants to make it clear: All the vehicles mentioned in my story yesterday about the upcoming auction of The Wild on Saturday 9 March in Midrand at 10:30 are not part of The Wild production but part of a supplementary auction.

The vehicles mentioned are included in the Aucor Movables print advert, but TV with Thinus was wrong to include it as part of The Wild's auction - it's happening at the same time but it's not from the show.

"No vehicles from The Wild will be sold at the auction," M-Net tells me. "On Saturday 9 March Aucor is doing a supplementary auction of vehicles that were not part of the production at all."

M-Net, interestingly also want to point out that once all M-Net television productions come to an end, "there are standard procedures in place regarding the assets that have been acquired by the series," says the South African pay-TV broadcaster.

"Firstly, the company redeploys these assets - from computers and electronic equipment to sets, furniture and props - to other M-Net productions. Thereafter, the remaining goods are donated to charities, offered as competition prizes, or in some cases, auctioned off."

With the soap's cancellation M-Net is getting rid of all sets and backstage equipment of The Wild with Aucor Movables having a viewing before Saturday's auction on Friday, 8 March, from 09:00 until 16:00.

Park homes, production crew offices, all furniture, appliances, artwork from set houses and catering equipment are up for grabs for people who want a part of The Wild.
