The sun finally sets on the 'land of the rising sun' logo of DStv Media Sales; no more Oracle left-over weird red dot to spot.

It wasn't pretty, and now it's gone - the "is-this-the-Japanese-flag" type logo of DStv Media Sales, which was introduced in May last year, and made people wonder whether they're missing out on some red dot sale somewhere.

DStv Media Sales is the commercial advertising arm which books TV commercials for MultiChoice's DStv channels and M-Net and has now simplified their logo in line with all the DStv branding which happened in October like the new DStv logo. The rest of the new logos and looks will slowly be phased in over the coming months.

The website for DStv Media Sales has not yet undergone the transformation of the redesigned logo.

The new simplified logo of DStv Media Sales - sans the "land of the rising sun" red dot (a sad little leftover of the original Oracle logo) and the swoosh made its first public appearance last month on the pop-up banners at the annual upfront for 2013 programming for Discovery Networks International which was held at Montecasino.

All the DStv brand logos for different products and divisions ranging from DStv Media Sales to for instance DStv On Demand and DStv BoxOffice now have a much more uniformly related look and feel, tying all the different sections of the pay-TV behemoth much more closer together.
