BREAKING. Ross Moss out as Ridge in The Bold and the Beautiful; filming his last scenes of the soap on Tuesday in America.

Ronn Moss (60) is done with The Bold and the Beautiful and he's filming his last scenes this Tuesday on the soap where he's portrayed the character of Ridge Forrester for the past 25 and a half years.

Ronn Moss is quitting the soap, with Entertainment Weekly which first reported the news. "Ronn has spent an amazing 25 years with The Bold and the Beautiful," says the Bell Phillip Television produced soap in a statement. "We will always consider him family, and we wish him only the best in all of his future endeavours."

The Bold and the Beautiful is seen in South Africa on weekdays at 18:00 where Ronn Moss has been a mainstay since the SABC first started showing the soap in the 1980's.

Although its popularity has waned the past decade in South Africa, mostly due to SABC1 scheduling problems, The Bold and the Beautiful still commands a sizeable audience in South Africa, although the SABC isn't keen on having it as programming anymore.

In May the SABC's new CEO Lulama Mokhobo told parliament that The Bold and the Beautiful "is old and "outdated, but that it will remain on the SABC's schedule because it keeps bringing in viewers and therefore advertisers and money.

The Bold and the Beautiful is hugely popular internationally, pulling in roughly 27 million viewers, making it the most popular soap seen around the world year after year. It's America's most profitable soap.

With Ronn Moss leaving the soap, it leaves Katherine Kelly Lang, John McCook and Susan Flannery as the only remaining original cast members.

The last episode with Ronn Moss of The Bold and the Beautiful will be shown in America next month.

Ronn Moss is reportedly leaving The Bold and the Beautiful according to Entertainment Weekly due to salary issues and have decided not to renew his contract.
