Derek van Dam, e.tv and the eNews Channel's (DStv 403) chief meteorologist (did you notice he's missing?) is fine after surgery to his finger and his left hand after a serious soccer accident a few weeks ago.
I don't comment or report on TV talent or executives' personal lives as long as it doesn't impact their professional work, but of course Derek van Dam went off the air for a second time this year due to a medical injury related accident. He of course had a black and blue eye in March after a serious yachting accident.
Viewers who knew what to look for. would have seen his left hand and the stiff finger on his left hand. According to sources he underwent an operation this week and is now fine. No word yet from the eNews Channel on when Derek van Dam will be back on the air.
