BREAKING. Top 100 contestants in My Top Billing Dream will go through to reality show; Durban auditions took place this past weekend.

The Durban auditions for My Top Billing Dream Top Billing and SABC3's new reality show looking for a new presenter - took place this past weekend. The venue was packed as people streamed to the weekly entertainment magazine show's audition venue for the chance to not just meet Top Billing presenters, but to possibly become one.

With the Bloemfontein auditions and the Durban auditions having taken place, Tswelopele Productions is gearing up for the next city - Port Elizabeth. People can attend the next audition phase in the friendly and windy city this coming Thursday and Friday 24 and 25 May from 09:00 at the Protea Hotel Marine.

After the nationwide audition process (which is being filmed and which will be shown as TV specials before the reality show My Top Billing Dream starts) the top 100 contestants nationwide will be chosen for the show's presenter search. These 100 however will quickly be narrowed down as the 100 contestants will be put through rigorous tests and challenges by the producers.

The Top Billing presenters Lorna Maseko and Sinazo Yolwa were the judges for the Durban auditions this past weekend.

"We had people auditioning from all walks of life," says Sinazo Yolwa. "Among the usual auditions, we were treated to some brave souls who sang or danced for us. As a presenter you've got to be prepared for unusual and sometimes surprising situations and Durban definitely stepped up to the plate."

"Durban blew us away," says Lorna Maseko. "We weren't expecting such a level of talent and promise and they really brought it!"

Top Billing executive director, Patience Stevens, Top Billing presenter Jeannie D and the comedian Eugene Khoza formed the judging panel for the final day of callbacks. Out of the hundreds who auditioned in Durban, 29 hopefuls had one more chance to impress the judges.

After this coming Thursday and Friday's auditions in Port Elizabeth, My Top Billing Dream will move to Polokwane with auditions taking place on 28 May from 09:00 at the Protea Hotel Ranch Resort.

Cape Town gets its chance from 1 - 3 June from 09:00 at the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice. Johannesburg auditions for the My Top Billing Dream will be held from 8 - 11 June from 09:00 at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium.
