BREAKING. The Carrie Diaries, a 'prequel' drama to Sex and the City - picked up as a regular new TV show.


The Carrie Diaries, a ''prequel'' and "young Sex and the City" with AnnaSophia Robb as a young Carrie Bradshaw has been picked up to become a full regular new TV series.

The CW network in America - after a pilot episode was filmed - has decided to make a full series of The Carrie Diaries.

The Carrie Diaries is set in in the 80's when Carrie Bradshaw - in high school in New York - asks her first questions about love, sex, relationships, friendship and the nature of family and work in Manhattan.

The Carrie Diaries is based on the prequel which was written by Candace Bushnell. The rest of the cast in this new soapy drama includes Austin Butler, Brendan Dooling, Freema Agyeman, Stefania Owen, Katie Findlay, Ellen Wong, Matt Letscher and Chloe Bridges.
