BREAKING. SABC doing regional roadshows from this week for its new Request for Proposals book.
The SABC is doing regional roadshows this week and next week to promote and tell producers and production companies about its first new Request for Proposals, or so-called RFP book - but has hardly bothered to tell anyone.
It's the first new RFP book from the SABC in 3 years, in which the SABC details the new local content the SABC is looking for, ranging from education and religious programming to factual, drama, entertainment and children's shows.
The SABC's new RFP book has already been called ''very limited'' by the Support Public Broadcasting Coalition (SOS).
The SABC is doing regional roadshows across South Africa that started today in Johannesburg. A SABC team - comprising of channel representatives, commissioning editors, legal experts and experts on finance and industry development - are visiting the various cities on the following dates between 09:00 and 12:00:
- Johannesburg, Monday 5 December, SABC Radio Park Auditorium
- Cape Town, Tuesday 6 December, SABC Sea Point Offices
- Bloemfontein, Wednesday 7 December, SABC Bloemfontein Offices
- Polokwane, Thursday 8 December, SABC Polokwane Offices
- Durban, Monday 12 December, SABC Durban Offices
