As I've reported RIGHT HERE in early October when BBC Worldwide Channels talked about the growth and future plans for the BBC channels in South Africa, BBC Worldwide Channels re-iterated today that programming shown on channels such as BBC Entertainment - Top Gear for instance - will be moving much closer to the original broadcasting date of such shows in Britain.
''The latest series of Top Gear, the world's most popular motoring show, will be coming to global television screens just days after the British premiere transmission,'' says BBC Worldwide Channels in a press release.
''Kicking off with a new Top Gear special in early 2012, series 18 will follow a maximum of 14 days after the British broadcast of the series, on BBC Entertainment in India, Africa and Latin America and on BBC Knowledge in Poland and Asia.''
''It's an important part of our programming strategy to bring as much of our acquired content to air as closely on our global network as it does in the United Kingdom,'' says David Weiland, the senior vice president of programming and channels at BBC Worldwide Channels.
