BREAKING. CNBC Africa establishing a business news bureau in Namibia; signs a content-platform exchange with Namibia's NBC.
CNBC Africa (DStv 410) is planning to establish a bureau of the business television channel in Namibia and has entered into a contract with the Namibian Broadcast Corporation (NBC) that will see CNBC Africa TV content be shown on the terrestrial NBC TV channel from this month.
CNBC Africa will also feature more Namibian business coverage.
''This agreement will position the NBC rightfully in this highly competitive market and satisfy the business news niche in the local market,'' says Albertus Aochamub, director general of the NBC in a press statement.
''We will now also be able to extract insights from Namibia's business and economic leaders through television interviews done live via satellite between Johannesburg and Windhoek,'' says Gary Alfonso, CNBC Africa's managing director in the same statement, saying that the agreement essentially means that CNBC Africa will be establishing a bureau at the NBC in Namibia.
CNBC Africa will be sourcing business and economic news from Namibia, while NBC will have access to CNBC Africa's business news content and programming for the NBC channel.
