The brand-new sitcom Melissa & Joey that started last week on Vuzu (Wednesdays, 19:00) for a first season of 30 episodes (America is at episode 14) has just been renewed for a second season.
Melissa & Joey that marks the return of Melissa Joan Hart of Sabrina the Teenage Witch fame and Joey Lawrence of Blossom in a kind of new generation version of Who's the Boss?, just got picked up for a second season. Both Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence are executive producers besides being lead actors in their sitcom.
''Melissa & Joey have proven to be a comedic powerhouse, with wonderful chemistry that has resonated with viewers in the tradition of great television pairings," says Michael Riley who's president of the ABC Family channel in America, in a press statement announcing the renewal. "As our focus on comedy continues to develop, we're delighted to see it return next year as an integral part of the network's expanding slate of original series.''
