Programming note: Bloomberg Television readying a TV special, Rupert Murdock: A Special Report, for broadcast in a few hours.

Bloomberg Television (DStv 411) just alerted me that the global business news channel is readying a TV special that will be seen tomorrow morning (Tuesday 12 July) at 03:00 (South African time; 21:00 in New York) entitled Rupert Murdock: A Special Report.

Rupert Murdock: A Special Report is a one hour special with Bloomberg Television that will be taking an in-depth look at Rupert Murdock's News Corp. and the fallout facing his media empire after the scandal of phone hacking by, and subsequent immediate closure of the 168 year old tabloid newspaper News of the World.

Margaret Brennan of Bloomberg Television will host a roundtable of reporters and experts including the influential former British broadcasting regulator Stewart Purvis and Felix Gillette, media writer for Bloomberg Businessweek.

''Rupert Murdock: A Special Report will examine the challenges confronting Rupert Murdoch, the business impact of the News of the Week scandal and what Rupert Murdoch stands to lose financially if he's unable to make the BSkyB deal materialize,'' says Bloomberg Television. ''With select interviews and material from Bloomberg Game Changers: Rupert Murdoch Bloomberg Television goes in-depth on Rupert Murdoch's rise into a media mogul and whether a tarnished Rupert Murdoch can have the same impact.''
