BOOM! Here's one for the haters. Who made R10 million gazillion from Dark & Lovely ... and could be back for [gasp] a second season?

You're reading it here first.

Time to froth, tweetanators! I can exclusive reveal that Nonhle Thema might be going to the Psych Ward. Or Twitter School. Or a dark place that's lovely. Who knows? Hard as it may seem, but the worst new local South African television show this year might very well be back [I hear gasps] for ... a second season.

Nonhle Goes to Hollywood could be back for a second season on Vuzu (DStv 123), reliable insider sources reveal. The much-maligned local reality show that was savaged by TV critics for its shocking production values, and that some point to as the catalyst for Nonhle Thema's self-destructive Twitter rants, could be back for a second season.

Nonhle Thema, who observers say have gone from humble to arrogant ''overnight'' following the skewered reality show's debut, also presents the weekday entertainment news show V Entertainment on Vuzu. Now it suddenly seems that Nonhle Thema's career as a reality ingĂ©nue might very well be far from over. ''Nonhle Thema is suddenly notorious,'' says a source. ''Nonhle's TV destruction and the way that she didn't seem to be able to cope with it all, has some people enthralled. Nonhle now comes across as unstable and erratic and it seems that people suddenly love that. Suddenly nobody can predict what Nonhle Thema is going to do or say next. Of course you'll get people who will watch that if she's in a reality show now.''

''No broadcaster commissions a local production with the hopes that it won't have legs,'' says another insider whom I asked about a second season for Nonhle Goes to Hollywood. ''Shows are given a first season with the hopes that it might continue and the same is true for Nonhle Goes to Hollywood.''

More telling is that Vuzu doesn't want to confirm that Nonhle Goes to Hollywood is officially cancelled, something broadcasters usually have no qualms to admit if no futher negotiations are taking place or envisioned. ''At this point we cannot confirm nor deny that there will be a second season of the reality show Nonhle Goes to Hollywood,'' says Vuzu in response to my media enquiry. What this means is that the door for a second season seems decidedly more open than closed.
