BREAKING. One Tree Hill renewed for a 9th season which will be its final season and consist out of just 13 episodes.


The quarterlife angsty drama One Tree Hill will be back for another season but the upcoming ninth season of One Tree Hill will ne its ninth and last and only have 13 episodes.

The CW network in America unveiled its specific schedule the the upcoming new TV season today at the LA Upfronts and said that although One Tree Hill is definitely renewed, that the new 9th season will be its last and only have 13 episodes (compared to the usual 22 episodes per season).

The producers of One Tree Hill will try to lure both Chad Michael Murray (as Lucas) and Hilarie Burton (as Peyton) back for the last and final few episodes of One Tree Hill's 9th season. Both left at the end of the 7th season when contract negotiations didn't work out. Contract negotiations for appearances in the 8th season also didn't work out.

''One Tree Hill has now spent four seasons exploring the experiences of twenty-somethings,'' says the CW in a press release. ''Season nine will continue to grow and break new ground, as the show approaches the rarified air of 200 episodes.''
