Programming note: Film crew waited 3 months outside to make the National Geographic Channel's upcoming Vatican: Life Inside.

Vatican: Life Within is a must-see on the National Geographic Channel (DStv 260) Sunday 17 April at 21:00. And here's what you won't be told about this impressive documentary in which eight people from inside the seat of power of the Roman Catholic church brek their silence and talk about their duties in the shadow of the Pope.

This National Geographic Channel documentary gives a mesmerizing behind-the-scenes glimpse as told through the stories of eight people inside the Vatican, combined with unique high-class visuals inside this mostly unknown world. Vatican: Life Within was filmed by the wildlife movie director John Bredar who've also filmed Inside the White House. But unlike America's White House that opened their doors more easier, the production crew found access to the Vatican much more difficult.

John Bredar and his film crew set up camp outside the Vatican for 3 months until their persistence in getting access finally paid off. They, for instance, got interviews with the Vatican's resident astronomer brother Guy Consolmagno and cardinal Angelo Comastri, editor of Vatican Radio. ''It has all the great elements: history, art, drama, religion,'' says John Bredar about Vatican: Life Inside.
