Mark Bayly on his (actually awesome) hair for television: ''The first thing I would change about myself would be my hair.''
Mark Bayly just left M-Net's All Access where he was a presenter for the past 2 years and is now venturing into radio as well with his own weekly radioshow on 2oceansvibe radio on Wednesdays starting today. But of course Mark Bayly has absolutely great TV hair for a man - although he denies it.
''You know something. The first thing I would change about myself would be my hair. Followed by my nose and chin. I hate my hair,'' Mark Bayly laughs when I specifically asked him about his fantastic follicles for TV.
''When I started as the presenter of Survivor SA I begged them for a hat. First of all because you're outside the whole time in the sun in harsh filming conditions and pretty much have to try and wear a hat. But for two seasons I with my terrible hair couldn't wear a hat. Then Nico Panagio who has great hair wears a hat all the time. And I just don't understand why they were picking on me like that!'' Mark Bayly laughs. ''My hair is one of my greatest frustrations, so I'm not sure how to respond to your question,'' he told me.
But there must be ways how he gets the mane to look like it does. So i persisted. ''When I filmed inserts I generally washed it the day before so that it's slightly dirtier and stiffer,'' Mark Bayly laughed right in my ear. ''And it's product. It's product. I use a tea tree hair product. It just keeps it under control for the brief periods that we're filming. It's surprising that you pick my hair because I think it's my worst thing.''
Mark Bayly is now on radio on 2oceansvibe radio on Wednesdays between 15:00 and 18:00 in the drivetime slot.
