BREAKING. SABC3 secures the broadcasting rights to the Royal Wedding on 29 April and has that BBC look-back special the next day.

Insiders told me very early this morning that the signatures and paperwork is done and that there will be confirmation today and SABC3 just confirmed that the broadcaster has secured the rights to broadcast the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday 29 April from 09:00 to 14:30.

Last week RIGHT HERE I told you that the rights clearance and BBC feed pick-up was 99% certain but still waited final sign-off which has no happened. Earlier the week an SABC3 source said ''the royal family is very finicky. They have to sign off on everything. You won't for instance even be able to say 'brought to you by SABC3'.''

SABC3 just officially confirmed that the broadcaster got the Royal Wedding broadcast of the BBC. ''SABC3 announced today that it has secured the rights to broadcast the full coverage of one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the century, the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey. The live broadcast will be aired from 09:00 to 14:40 on Friday, 29th April.''

''This happy and momentous occasion's coverage begins 3 hours ahead of the wedding service. During this early period, we will be watching the excitement and anticipation build up around central London as well as other key locations such as St. Andrews and Kate's home village of Bucklebury.''

''Following the service, viewers will observe the full procession back to Buckingham Palace and then reflect on how the wedding has made an impact all over the United Kingdom and possibly around the world. The programme will end just after we observe the historic balcony appearance by William and Kate and close members of the Royal Family.''

''On Saturday, 30th April from 17:00 to 19:00, SABC3 will be broadcasting The Royal Wedding Special. During this special Huw Edwards and Sophie Raworth look back on highlights of an extraordinary day. They will be joined by special guests to relive the key moments of the wedding, from the early morning preparations, the journey to the Abbey, the service, the procession back to Buckingham Palace and the joyous balcony appearance.''
