BREAKING. BBC Knowledge announces more programming specifics around the run-up to, and the day of the Royal Wedding.

BBC Knowledge is announcing more programming specifics regarding the BBC's Royal Wedding coverage leading up to, and including the wedding day of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday 29 April which will be broacast live on this day on BBC Knowledge (DStv 251) and BBC World News (TopTV 400 / DStv 400) for South African viewers.

Exactly as I've reported right here BBC Knowledge's coverage of the Royal Wedding will be the broadcast that British viewers will be seeing on the BBC One channel, while BBC Knowledge will have a range of extensive royal documentaries and programming in the week leading up to wedding. BBC Entertainment (DStv 120) will also be showing highlights of the Royal Wedding following the main broadcast on BBC Knowledge on the day.

BBC Knowledge will broadcast a week of royal programming starting on Monday 25 April. Shows include Royally Mad with presenter Cat Deeley. In Royally Mad five of America's most ardent fans of the British royal family embark on the trip of a lifetime to London as they indulge in everything royal wedding-themed and are tested on their knowledge by tour guide Cat Deeley.

Untold Stories of a Royal Bridesmaid will visit designer India Hicks who was a teenage bridesmaid when her godfather Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer. People interviewed in this programme include Princess Diana's dress designer David Emanuel, fellow bridesmaid Clementine Hambro, fashion icon Caroline Herrera, and India's mother Lady Pamela Hicks, herself a Royal bridesmaid for the HM the Queen.

Britain's Royal Weddings will capture all the emotion, excitement and style of the nation's previous royal weddings.

William, Kate & 8 Royal Weddings is a brand-new documentary reveals the glamour and spectacle of the previous Royal Wedding days with behind-the-scenes anecdotes, interviews with Royal wedding-dress designers, memories from Royal bridesmaids, and stunning archive footage.

BBC World News is also showing 4 special Witness programmes this month each offering a uniquely personal perspective on major royal stories from history including the marriage of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier, Edward and Wallace Simpson, HRH Prince Charles and Princess Diana and the son of Botswana chief Sir Seretse Khama and Englishwoman Ruth Williams.

BBC World News will also have four special Royal Wedding editions of One Square Mile and a weekly UK Report - Royal Wedding Special hosted by Mishal Husain this month.
