For the first time ever South African viewers can now watch the daily, hour long entertainment news magazine show Showbiz Tonight after the show has been added as a daily show on Star! (TopTV 179) on TopTV at 17:00. Showbiz Tonight makes for great and a quality new TV magazine show addition to the Star! schedule.

Showbiz Tonight that started in 2005 is a revival of Showbiz Today that South African viewers saw on CNN International until 2001. Showbiz Tonight is anchored by AJ Hammer from New York and Brooke Anderson in Hollywood who've both been with the show since the beginning in 2005.

The South African episode of Showbiz Tonight - the most credible of the American entertainment news magazine shows around - is the exact same day's episode going out in America. In America Showbiz Tonight is broadcast on HLN, a CNN spin-off channel.

Besides interviews with the stars from the world of television, music and movies, Showbiz Tonight covers the biggest (and often controversial) celebrity entertainment stories and breaking entertainment news. Showbiz Tonight will be on for 7 nights a week with a new edition daily, similar to America.

The daily (also hour long) E! News at 03:25 on E! Entertainment (DStv 124) with Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic now has strong competition with Showbiz Tonight that has behind it the full news gathering resources of CNN. Showbiz Tonight calls itself ''TV's most provocative entertainment news show'' and is already planning Oscar as well as Grammy specials for upcoming episodes.
