BBC World News scaling back its weekday BBC World News America to a half hour show from 28 March.

BBC World News (DStv 400 / TopTV 400) is scaling back its American coverage by cutting its weekday news show BBC World News America from an hour to just half an hour from Monday, 28 March.

BBC World News will change its schedule and show BBC World News America as a half hour broadcast from 28 March with possibly one repeat, but there's no word yet what those time(s) will be for South African viewers. The show is shifting to an earlier timeslot to accomodate American viewers but might be shown at a different time on BBC World News' feed for Africa. BBC World News America is currently shown at 02:00 on weekday mornings in South Africa.

''This plan and our reformatted newscast, allows us to reach more viewers than ever before,'' says Rome Hartman, BBC World News America executive producer in a BBC press release.
