BREAKING. Big Brother Africa is back for a new 6th season on M-Net and looking for contestants - and promises a brand-new focus.

Big Brother Africa is back for a 6th season on M-Net and is now looking for contestants across 14 African countries including South Africa who only have until 27 February to enter before the camera start to roll 24/7 on the 6th season that will kick off on Sunday 1 May for 91 days. Endemol SA is once again producing the reality show locking contestants in a house for a prize of

''Last year's Big Brother All Stars version was a great success and we were extremely pleased with the show's performance,'' says Biola Alabi, M-Net Africa managing director who says that M-net is looking forward to the new 6th season of Big Brother Africa kicking of on 1 May. She describes the 5th season as ''compelling, entertaining and exciting television.''

''This year it's once again time for fresh faces and new perspectives so we encourage entries from across the 14 countries,'' she says. People from Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe who are 21 and older can enter. The 6th season of Big Brother Africa will again be shown for 24 hours per day for 7 days a week on DStv channel 198 from 1 May.

''As with previous years, we won't be divulging too many details about the new season as yet,'' says Biola Alabi but she promises a brand-new focus. ''Our viewers respond favourably to surprises, they look forward to see what will happen next, what the new twists will be and we aim to please. Our focus now is on creating something new and innovative while maintaining those aspects, like the strategic nomination sessions and dramatic eviction nights that are the foundation of this show.'' Sivan Pillay, managing director for Endemol says the Big Brother Africa format ''continues to be popular''.

The deadline for entries for the 6th Big Brother Africa is 27 February. Entry forms are available at MultiChoice offices in these 14 countries.
