BREAKING. E! Entertainment cancels The Daily 10, show also forced to apologize after tasteless Adam Lambert joke.

E! Entertainment (DStv 124) has canceled The Daily 10 with anchors Sal Masekela and Catt Sadler.

The daily half hour show that started in March 2006 with the format of counting down the top ten biggest pop culture stories of the day, is co-incidentally embroiled in a massive controversy of its own after The Daily 10 made a tasteless joke about America Idol runner-up Adam Lambert over the weekend. E! Entertainment said The Daily 10 will apologize in today's episode. There's no indication (yet) whether the scandal was the last straw that made E! Entertainment decide to pull the plug on the low-rated show.

In America E! News with anchors Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic will go back to being a daily hour long show from Monday, October 25 when The Daily 10 gets dumped. Sadly, the E! Entertainment (British) feed seen in South Africa only has a (badly) edited 15 minute broadcast of the daily E! News. I have asked Comcast and E! Entertainment in Britain whether, and how, the disappearance of The Daily 10 and the availability of a longer E! News will be impacting the schedule for South African viewers, and I'm awaiting a response.
