SPOT THE DIFFERENCES. Guess what M-Net's Idols and the show's sponsor Ford have in common?

It's completely co-incidental but actually way cool. The one is a hit show on TV. The other a car manufacturer. Now the one blue logo is the sponsor of the other blue logo. And together they're making beautiful music on television.

This year Ford is the sponsor (for the first time) of the sixth season of Idols on M-Net and how unplanned, yet remarkable is this: both the TV show and the sponsor have similar looking logos: blue elliptical ovals encasing a flowing, serif font.

Ford as the sponsor, is contributing R250 000 to the overall prize money of this year's Idols winner (that will be crowned in November on the pay broadcaster) and a Ford Figo car which is a new model launched in South Africa. Of course with two very similar looking logos the reality show and the sponsor get an added benefit that you can't really ever plan for: even tighter brand awareness and brand integration in the minds of viewers. Idols and Ford on M-Net could literally in this case be two sides of the same (oval shaped) coin.
