BREAKING. TopTV still talking to channel providers to expand the TopTV bouquet; ''no contracts have yet been signed''.

With TopTV planning to add some more TV channels in September or October to the new South African pay TV operator's bouquet, I asked TopTV how the channel acquisition is going.

''We're obviously looking at the TopTV platform and where we can improve our channel selection. We're talking with channel providers,'' Elouise Kelly, On Digital Media (ODM) chief marketing officer tells me. Regarding the potential new channels she says ''no contracts have yet been signed, so it would be premature for me to name those channels. I would be more comfortable to talk about that at a later stage.''

ODM's CEO Vino Govender promised at the launch in May that TopTV wants to add another 15 TV channels ''within six months'' with no price increase to subscribers, which would set the time frame for those new TV channels to be rolled out at the latest at the end of October 2010.
