BREAKING. Al Jazeera, Sky News and Russia RT nominated for international Emmys in the news category.




The international news channels Al Jazeera (DStv 406 / TopTV 401), Sky News (DStv 402) and Russia Today (RT) (DStv 405) were all nominated in the news category by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Al Jazeera has been nominated for an international Emmy for coverage of the Gaza War in January last year. Sky News has been nominated for its Taliban coverage in Pakistan. Russia Today has been nominated for its coverage of Barack Obama's visit to Russia in July last year. Brazil's TV Globo is another nominee that covered local electricity blackouts in November. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on September 27 at the Lincoln Center in New York.
