BREAKING. From MultiChoice to TopTV: Brian Ndevu jumps ship to rival pay broadcaster and is asked to leave the building.

You're reading it here first.

Viewers will recognize him as a former SABC1 and SABC3 continuity presenter. Industry insiders will know Brian Ndevu from working behind the scenes in TV land - and when he just crossed over from MultiChoice to pay TV competitor TopTV, things were . . . how shall I say . . . not all that pretty.

''Brian Ndevu was asked to pack his stuff and he was basically escorted out of the building,'' a source told me on Sunday, who saw Brian Ndevu leave SABC3 to go and work at MultiChoice and now also saw him leave the building after only a few years to join MultiChoice's new pay TV rival On Digital Media (ODM).

''Big skandaal! People were buzzing all over in here and talking about it. When they [MultiChoice] found out they were terrified,'' quipped my source, ''but it's understandable. They're scared that people who leave - especially if its to competitors - will take their contacts and stuff about the company that's proprietary information with them. Even some other companies like [gym name] ask some employees who resign, to rather leave immediately and then escort them out the building.''

Of course I told you at the end of June RIGHT HERE about somebody from MultiChoice's DStv who was about to join ODM's TopTV. I can now also reveal exclusively that I'm exactly familiar, and have spoken to, several people at both MultiChoice as well as M-Net who have been approached by ODM's TopTV for possible available job positions, so it seems that Brian Ndevu's defection from MultiChoice is by no means the last and that MultiChoice can expect more resignations in future  - maybe still this year - who will in all likelihood be heading straight to the competition.

''People jump ship and join rivals all the time,'' another source said to me on Sunday. ''When Brian Ndevu left SABC3 for MultiChoice he got more money. Now ODM is just doing exactly what MultiChoice did and lured him away with a better offer.'' At the end of last week at exactly mid July, a TopTV source told me Brian Ndevu is now working there. Earlier today TopTV confirmed to me that Brian Ndevu is now employed there.
