BREAKING. Dr Stephen Mncube appointed as the new chairman of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa).
Dr Stephen Mncube (70) has been appointed with immediate effect (and for a five year term) as the new chairman of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) - the body regulating the South African communications industry.
Dr Stephen Mncube replaces Paris Mashile. Dr Stephen Mncube was the previous chairman of the beleaguered state owned signal distributor Sentech as well as the National Information Technology Forum.
Icasa spokesperson Paseka Maleka confirmed to me that dr Stephen Mncube's appointment is effective from today.
