What is the most common complaint from subscribers regarding DStv on Demand?
MultiChoice: Some users are unaware that personal recordings on the SD PVR take priority over DStv On Demand downloads. This sometimes results in DStv On Demand titles not being downloaded to their PVRs which can cause frustration. DStv on Demand titles are scheduled to be downloaded at various times throughout the week and will still download onto the user's PVR at a later stage - even if they're not immediately available.
We ensure that we advise customers of this on our forums or when they call in, providing them with specific schedule times. We are working on getting a schedule onto our website.
What is the single most complimented DStv on Demand feature, addition or functionality that subscribers enjoy the most?
MultiChoice: Our subscribers are pleased with the fact that content is not interrupted by ad breaks and that DStv on Demand saves space for personal recordings on their PVRs [that they don't have to record anymore]. Another advantage is that content they may have forgotten to record is automatically available to them when they get home.
What type of content is the most downloaded/viewed on the new DStv on Demand service?
MultiChoice: DStv on Demand customers at http://ondemand.dstv.com favour the M-Net blockbuster premieres, sporting highlights and the various Carte Blanche shows. In terms of series, teen-based shows like The Vampire Diaries have proven to be very popular as well as old favourites like House and Desperate Housewives.
Has there been any progress on the broadband offering, for instance extending it beyond just MWeb's uncapped service, or not?
MultiChoice: Regarding the online DStv on Demand service, non-MWeb subscribers are asking for DStv on Demand to be opened up to all. We've had very positive discussions with a number of internet service providers (ISPs) since launching DStv on Demand and we expect to announce the rollout of the service to several other ISPs in the very near future.
Does MultiChoice have any comments about the service and the progress of DStv on Demand from since its official launch in May up until now?
MultiChoice: DStv on Demand is part of MultiChoice's drive to offer our customers more value and choice. As a value-added service for our DStv Premium subscribers, we are pleased with the positive feedback we've received from customers about the service. We're continually looking at innovative ways to improve the viewing experience for our viewers across all platforms. DStv on Demand's online service is still in its beta release. Based on feedback from our users, we've been working hard on the next version of the service. We are looking forward to extending the reach to other ISPs, increasing the amount of content available, and adding additional features.
