BREAKING. SABC1 to move popular soaps The Bold & the Beatiful and Generations to new timeslots from June as part of its 2010 FIFA World Cup schedule overhaul.

I can exclusively reveal a massive soapie shocker that will hit South African soapie watchers next month without any warning: SABC1 plans to move its popular weekday soapie The Bold & the Beautiful from 18:00 to 18:30 from Thursday, June 10 and will even move South Africa's most watched TV show, the weekday soapie Generations as well to make way for the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup tournament that will take over on SABC1 from mid June until mid July.

I can reveal that Generations is also set to move on the same day as The Bold & the Beautiful - Thursday, June 10 - to a whole new timeslot. From June 10, Generations will be broadcast a whole hour earlier on weekdays when it moves from 20:00 to 19:00 on SABC1. The Generations Omnibus going out on Saturdays on SABC1 will also get scuttled to a new timeslot from Saturday, June 12. The Generations Omnibus will move from 08:30 to 10:00 in mid-June until after the conclusion of the public broadcaster's World Cup coverage.

Of course not a peep out of SABC1 about any of this.
