BREAKING. As the World Turns: SABC2 set to add brand-new American soap to its daytime TV schedule in June.
You're reading it here first.
I can exclusively reveal that SABC2 will add the American TV soap As the World Turns to its daytime TV schedule in June when it will go out on weekday afternoons on the broadcaster. ''As the World Turns is definitely coming to SABC2,'' Nivasha Hardev, SABC2 marketing manager tells me.
The addition of As the World Turns to SABC2's weekday line-up will make this American soap set in the fictional Oakdale, the 13th TV soap that's currently in original production, and that is broadcast on South African television. South African viewers will get 45 minutes of As The World Turns - the world's longest running TV soap currently in production - when it starts on Tuesday, June 1 on SABC2 at 14:30. As the World Turns will have a late night repeat slot on SABC2 at 00:45 where SABC2 has already been testing out the show.
South African viewers will be joining As the World Turns at episode 12 653 an SABC2 insider told me late on Friday. What that means is that SABC2 will have South African viewers join As the World Turns from the episodes broadcast three years ago in the 2007 TV season in America.
