SABC3 loves stripping. Viewers too.

You're reading it here first.

What do viewers think of SABC3's strategy of stripping multiple episodes of international shows Monday to Thursday nights at 21:00 and 22:15? Is SABC3 merely burning off shows by showing 4 episodes per week of popular American drama series? Is the channel trying to catch up after it acquired too many TV shows? Or is SABC3 deliberately just trying to give viewers more of a good thing?

Well, it turns out it's the last one: SABC3 is trying to retain viewers and give them more of a good thing. And viewers? . . .They love it. Stripping multiple episodes per week gives SABC3's late night viewers instant gratification who no longer need to wait a week for a measely one new episode. And SABC3 plans to continue with the strategy of stripping multiple episodes per week of international drama shows.

''Multiple episodes per week of hit shows will continue,'' SABC3 tells me. ''To do this, and to continue with this, was a conscious decision. Fortunately for us, it paid off because viewers love it'' the TV channel tells me.
