Egoli's real last episode ends earlier; followed by tribute episodes.

You're reading it here first. Egoli fans who think they're going to tune in at the end of March on M-Net at 18:30 to see the last episode(s) are mistaken. Egoli - Place of Gold actually ends on Tuesday 2 March at 18:30 already.

M-Net says Egoli ends at the end of March 2010 which is technically correct, but that is because the final episode, concluding the run of the soapie happens on 2 March, 2010, followed by 18 tribute episodes taking the show until 26 March, 2010, 18 weekdays later.

Take out a calendar and therefore circle 2 March, 2010 at 18:30 as the very important date to see how the story ends - that is the last and final ''original'' episode in which you'll see what happens to the characters.

Stay tuned after that however. M-Net tells me the ''final'' episode of South Africa's longest running local soapie will be followed by special tribute episodes compiled of flashbacks. These clip shows will each comprise a year in the life of the show, starting with 1992 on Wednesday, 3 March 2010.

After that, the following day, we get the next year (1993) and so on until the end, detailing the pivotal and important events that transpired in the soapie during that year. Therefore if you tune in on 26 March to watch the end of the soapie, you're going to see a clip show of the last year of Egoli as opposed to how the show really wraps up.
