A+E Networks UK's History channel on DStv rebrands again; more gold leaf visible as temporary idents will be replaced with a new ident pack by June.

The History (DStv 186) channel on MultiChoice's DStv satellite pay-TV platform has rebranded again from this Tuesday, 1 March.

The channel supplied to MultiChoice by A+E Networks UK keeps the general colour palette and has a set of new on-air channel idents for History, but these are only temporary.

These new History idents viewers are seeing will be replaced by June with a new ident pack that A+E Networks in the United States is still working on.

And before you ask, no, none of the History idents feature an ancient alien.

All in all there's more gold. If History was a book instead of a TV channel, the pages would be embossed with more gold leaf throughout.

Show names on History during and at the end of promos now have a more "classic look"; it gives History almost a "vintage" on-air feel.
