M-Net is returning the TV shows which were in mid-season on M-Net Series when that channel was removed on cheaper DStv bouquets and replaced with M-Net Series Zone which suddenly no longer carried certain TV shows.
The immediate schedule change follows viewer outrage after fuming DStv subscribers started an online petition last week complaining on page after page that TV content they had access to and paid for had suddenly been taken away.
Now M-Net says the pay-TV broadcaster is returning that content to MultiChoice's DStv Compact, DStv Select and DStv Extra subscribers with immediate effect who "will now be able to watch the remaining episodes of shows that were in mid-season when the M-Net Series channel transformed into M-Net Series Zone recently".
"The remaining episodes of Warehouse 13 IV, Glee IV, Bunheads II and New Girl II will be screened on M-Net Series Zone," says M-Net.
"These changes will be implemented with immediate effect and the first change to the schedule will take place on Sunday 21 July."
"In August, Zone viewers can catch new shows NCIS Los Angeles IV and House of Lies II and also a new season of Homeland II."
"During the months of September and October viewers can see the return of a new season of Grey's Anatomy, and also for the first time on Zone Dallas II, Revenge II, The Following I, The Fixer II and Political Animals I.
"November and December, has more entertainment in store with Chicago Fire I, Arrow I, Vegas I, Bates Motel I and Red Widow I all for the first time on Zone, and watch the returning season of Newsroom II."
The final two episodes of Warehouse 13 IV will be shown on M-Net Series Zone on Sunday 21 July at 21:30 and 22:30. This means that episode 4 of Boss will air an hour later at 23:30.
The final three episodes (episodes 6,7 and 8) of Bunheads II will be shown on Sunday 28 July at 21:30, 22:30 and 23:30.
Glee IV will be shown on Sunday 4 August (episode 14) at 21:30, Sunday 11 August (ep.15), Sunday 18 August (ep.16 &17), Sunday 28 August (ep.18 & 19), Sunday 1 September (ep. 20 & 21), Sunday 8 September (ep.22).
New Girl will show double episodes on 31 July and 1 August and then from Mondays to Thursdays from 5 August. M-Net Series Zone will shown the second season in its totality from the start right until the end.
M-Net tells TV with Thinus that premium television content has to be shown first on M-Net (DStv 101) and then on M-Net Series Showcase (M-Net 113) but that more content will definitely be channeled to M-Net Series Zone within months - and also for the first time TV series which were shown on the M-Net channel and which would not have gone to M-Net Series.
"It's important to note that as in the past when we just had the old M-Net Series (DStv 110) channel content aired on M-Net (DStv 101) and when the season was complete, viewers were able to view this content. Now we have another channel in the form of M-Net Series Zone which has been introduced. In the same way we have done in the past, M-Net and M-Net Series Showcase will air content first and then at a later stage M-Net Series Zone viewers will be able to catch these series."
"Additionally, subscribers can look forward to jam-packed shows that can be seen for the first time on M-Net Series Zone and also see some popular returning shows. What's more, Zone viewers will be able watch 2 to 3 episodes per week without having to wait for next week."
