Naspers' latest financial year report includes images of never-before-seen 'M Movies channels'.

Naspers' latest financial year report for the year ending March 2012 which I've been reading and studying the past few weeks contains one very interesting image showing what could possibly be new M-Net movie channels.

The Performance Review section of Naspers' annual financial results contains a huge opener image with a grid containing logos and names such as M Movies Premiere, M Movies Comedy, M Movies Family, M Movies Action+ and more which has never been seen before. It comes with times in the grid layout clearly denoting possibly fixed starting times of movies structured according to specific "genres".

Earlier in August I asked M-Net about this intriguing image and the names which are not currently in use. Why would a real, fiduciary accurate financial year report include something seemingly "non-real"? Unless it was accidentally included too soon?

"The image in question is, in fact, a mock-up of potential channels, but there is no concrete information at this stage," M-Net told me.

In November last year and of course again in March I reported on M-Net's genre-specific plans for its movie channels, which is following the Sky model for movie channels and which sources told me was planned for October 2012.

With the new satellite Intelsat 20 or IS-20 which was successfully launched at the beginning of this month, and with the additional new capacity for high definition (HD) channels and HD versions of existing channels, as well as new TV channels, it would appear likely that this plan is coming to imminent fruition for M-Net.
