BREAKING. Christiane Amanpour back to CNN International with her own new weekly show.
Christiane Amanpour, CNN's longtime veteran chief international correspondent who left last August after 27 years is returning to CNN International (DStv 401) with her own show.
Christiane Amanpour who had her own show Amanpour on the global 24 hour news network before jumping ship to become the host of This Week on America's ABC network in August 2010 (which could be seen in South Africa on BBC World News) is returning to CNN International after a year and a half. She will also continue to work for ABC News.
''I am looking forward to getting back into the field to report stories on global issues that matter greatly to the American people. At the same time, I will be broadcasting once again to millions of people across the world with a weekday show on CNN International,'' says Christiane Amanpour in a press statement. ''This role is groundbreaking, bold and very different! I am thrilled and honored.''
