Programming note: ABC's This Week with Christiane Amanpour now showing on Sundays on BBC World News.
South African TV viewers who've watched her on CNN International and missed her since she left at the end of April to join America's ABC network where she became the anchor of her own Sunday morning round table talk show, can now see Christiane Amanpour again.
The veteran international TV journalist started This Week with Christiane Amanpour in August on America's ABC network, but now BBC World News (DStv 400 / TopTV 400) is broadcasting every Sunday's episode a few hours later at 21:15 in South Africa. This Week with Christiane Amanpour is the first American TV network program to be broadcast on BBC World News.
This Week with Christiane Amanpour differs from the rest of the American Sunday morning political shows in that Christiane Amanpour takes a more global view. ''It's a wonderful opportunity for This Week to be included in BBC World News' programming,'' says Christiane Amanpour. ''We're living in a globalised community and through This Week we're expanding the conversation to include more of the world and a broader perspective.''
''Christiane is a world-renowned journalist and This Week offers our viewers unique perspectives and analysis from opinion leaders in America and overseas,'' says Richard Porter, the director of news content at BBC World News.
