In December I broke the news RIGHT HERE that SABC3 is planning a brand-new morning show and now I can tell you that Tswelopele Productions will be giving SABC2's Morning Live and e.tv's Sunrise some competition from October when the new Afrikaans breakfast show Op en Wakker (''Up and awake'') will debut on SABC3 between 05:00 and 07:00 on weekdays on SABC3.
Op en Wakker which is currently the working title for SABC3's new morning show will be done by Tswelopele Prductions that's already producing Top Billing, Top Travel and co-producing No Reservations for the SABC's commercial television channel. Tswelopele Productions is also behind the Afrikaans Pasella in primetime for SABC2.
Indeed I can spill that it's mostly the Tswelopele Productions' Pasella team that's working on creating Op en Wakker for SABC3 as a new morning show that will have a strong lifestyle focus and with a lesser news slant as is the case with Morning Live and Sunrise. I can spill that Tswelopele Productions in Cape Town is currently looking for a senior producer for the show who will also be working on the new two hour addition from the Mother City. I can report first that Op en Wakker will be done from Cape Town with quick cross-overs to Johannesburg.
