INTERVIEW. Devi Sankaree Govender on Carte Blanche Consumer.

Carte Blanche Consumer started tonight at 19:00 on M-Net, hosted by Devi Sankaree Govender, as a brand-new weekly Carte Blanche addition to the Sunday night show, that will be focused on consumer issues.

I asked her a few questions on what viewers will get to see on Carte Blanche Consumer, how she feels when confronting crooks and what consumer advice she has for people. Devi talked about being a working mom, a home-body and her ''off the wall'' diary.

The eNews reporter Jody Jacobs has arrived in Haiti and has started filing stories for eNews Prime Time as well as the eNews Channel (DStv 403) and do telephone studio link-up live interviews.

Jody Jacobs did misspoke in the filed package and said ''Port-au-France'' instead of the Haiti capital's real-name, Port-au-Prince.

FlashForward on M-Net with Joseph Fiennes is so popular right out of the gate, that the show is getting a repeat timeslot on M-Net Series (DStv 110) with immediate effect.

FlashForward started on Tuesday at 20:30 on M-Net and since then the pay broadcaster heard from a lot of viewers who are clamoring for a repeat showing.

From this Sunday, 24 January, FlashForward will start on M-Net Series at 19:00 (and then repeat on that channel as well at 01:00, 07:00 and 13:00 on Mondays).

This is an important announcement from Oceanic Airlines. Okay, just kidding. It's just me. I was first to have Losties foaming at the mouth when I broke the news early in January RIGHT HERE that the 6th and final season of Lost will start on M-Net Series (DStv 110) in May.

Now I have more exclusive scoop and it's all good news! The premiere date of the final 18 episodes of the very last season of Lost has just been moved up to April! I can be first to tell you that Lost will now start on Monday, 12 April at 20:00 on M-Net Series (DStv 110).

I can finally confirm the broadcasting times and schedules for MTV Networks' channels in South Africa for the Hope in Haiti telethon. If you don't know what that entails, you can read my earlier stories about it RIGHT HERE and how long it's apparently taking MTV to get their act together in South Africa about the telethon RIGHT HERE.

Now I can finally tell you that MTV Base (DStv 322), MTV Europe (DStv 321) and VH1 (DStv 323) will definitely all show the Hope in Haiti telethon in South Africa. The telethon will be going out on all 3 channels simultaneously without any commercial interruption (also CNN International (DStv 401) will show the telethon which I wrote about HERE).

Does M-Net send out email or snail mail? This is how the email looks that M-Net has send out to subscribers on the M-Net website. There's just a few problems.

Talk about Paradise Lost and a reality check! M-Net only sent out this email at 21:00 on Wednesday night! Embarrassing. That is an hour and a half AFTER the premiere of Survivor SA Santa Carolina's first episode at 19:30. You would think that M-Net - if the broadcaster did really want to send out such an email - that it would try and have it in inboxes BEFORE that time and not half an hour after the first episode has already ended.

And the promises of ''exclusive video interviews''? Well, it's exactly midnight and now officially Thursday morning. It's hours after the show has ended and the official website still contains no sign of ''exclusive video interviews'' and nothing but the most basic information and contestant information.

Most email users, if they receive an email would instinctively click immediately on it to be taken to the content it promises. In this case, a Paradise lost and a reality check.

BREAKING. On Digital Media won't be producing new local TV content.

On Digital Media (ODM) won't be producing new local TV content. The new satellite TV operator (that plans to start broadcasting in May this year) is planning locally packaged TV channels as a part of its bouquet offering of available channels, but the content on that will not be new and sourced from existing local TV shows that has already been broadcast and has been seen in South Africa already.

''While ODM will have local content, ODM will not be commissioning local content at the outset,'' the pay TV operator says.

As I've previously said, a monthly subscription service will range between R99 and R249 depending on how much channels a subscriber wants to get. ''Subscribers will be offered the flexibility to tailor-make their pay TV offering so that it is uniquely relevant to each viewer at a price that suits each individual's pockets.''

On Digital Media (ODM) has just ''reopened'' their website earlier today right here after MONTHS of just saying in their cyber space storefront window that the ''website is down for maintenance'' - something that didn't really inspire trust under potential subscribers or investors in this new satellite TV operator.

On Digital Media's website is now back, with essentially the same information and some improvements. It now lists the board of directors and the management team of the soon to start new pay TV platform (lets hope. the starting date has been pushed back officially at least 5 times).

Potential subscribers as well as potential installers can now fill in an application form on the website and the ODM website also FINALLY lists contact details like email adresses as well as the very important new switchboard number (which is tel: 011 589 9000/9).

I can bring you the VERY FIRST exit interview with Survivor SA Santa Carolina celeb contestant Garth Collins who got voted out after suffering an injury in the first episode of the M-Net reality show earlier this evening.

You will be SHOCKED by how much weight he tells me he lost. I asked Garth about what contestant viewers should keep an eye on, how he feels about being voted out so early and why it wasn't a surprise to him. He tells me what happened that he didn't anticipated would happen in the show, and I find out if he would do it again if he got the chance.
