SABC2 and eNCA will live broadcast and stream the memorial service of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela from 11:00 today.

Viewers will be able to tune in from 11:00 today for a live broadcast of the memorial service of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela (81) that will be broadcast on SABC2 and eNCA (DStv 403), and be streamed online, from the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

Some other radio and TV channels are likely to also carry a live broadcast, although only the SABC and eNCA made media advisory broadcasting plan announcements.

The SABC will carry the memorial service live today on SABC2 and it will also be streamed live online on the SABC's SABC News channel on YouTube.

eNCA will broadcast today's memorial service live on the channel from 11:00 and it will be streamed as well on eNCA.com and on eNCA on MultiChoice's DStv Now service, with several high profile guests, dignitaries and thousands of ordinary South Africans expected to attend.

"The official memorial will start at 11:00 and will include tributes from the deputy president David Mabuza on behalf of government and family; colleagues and artists will render items in honour of the mother of the nation," says minister in the presidency, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma in a statement.

On Saturday 14 April SABC2 will also have live coverage in the form of a special broadcast of the official state funeral of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, with coverage starting at 07:00 of the funeral proceedings that are set to start at 09:00 on Saturday.

On Saturday the Namibian president Hage Geingob and the United States civil rights activist, Jesse Jackson, are some of the dignitaries expected to pay their final respects at the funeral.

Condolence books have also been placed at the airports, the department of international relations and cooperation’s head office in Tshwane, parliament, Tuynhuys, the Union Buildings and at the department of arts and culture. Mourners can also sign the condolence books in Brandfort in the Free State, Mbizana and Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.

The period of mourning, as declared by the president, will end on Saturday evening when the struggle icon is laid to rest at the Fourways Memorial Park Cemetery.
