BREAKING. News Flash! No second season for Flash! this year on SABC3.

You're reading it here first.

I can exclusively reveal first that there will no longer be a second season of SABC3's glitzy weekly entertainment magazine show Flash! this year on the broadcaster.

Sources are telling me that although the public broadcaster's commercial TV channel would like to continue the show . . . there's no money. Flash! that debuted in 2009 on SABC3 with anchor presenters Viwe Soga and Isabella de Villiers (who got fired and replaced after 17 episodes with Rachel Stuart) was set to return in 2010 to SABC3. Insider sources told me long ago that SABC3 was unhappy with the show's duration of an hour and that Flash! would have returned for a second season, retooled as a half hour programme.

Now, there won't be any Flash! in 2010. ''Definitely not this year,'' says a source. The re-commissioning is still pending, which means a second season of Flash! - should the show indeed be re-commissioned by SABC3 - wont be able to go out before 2011.

Where you can read me today

My weekly Friday TV column Op die Kassie appears in Die Volksblad today, I have some advice for Viwe Soga and Rachel Stuart of Flash! on SABC3.
Like, you pronounce Josh Duhamel as ''Du-mel'' (like in ''caramel'' and NOT ''camel'') and John Statham as ''Stay-tem''. . .

(I had to help my one ex magazine editor right on ''Du-mel'' as well, who also kept on with Du-hamel, Du-hamel in the desert is a camel.)

If you don't get people's names right, you're going to be called out like Katherine Heigl did to the Emmy voice-over announcer woman who also obviously didn't practice or bothered to ask a producer to confirm whether you say it ''Hee-ghil'' or ''Hi-gull''.

Do you know how to say her name?
