BREAKING. Robinson Regstreeks on kykNET with Freek Robinson the next show getting 'cancelled' - ends March; will continue with new production company.

The bloodbath of culled and cancelled programmes continue at kykNET (DStv 144) with Robinson Regstreeks with Freek Robinson which has also been cancelled ... sortof ...

Robinson Regstreeks has been cancelled with the existing production company Foxwood Films, with a new production company which will take over Robinson Regstreeks after March, TV with Thinus is told.

The cancellation of the existing Robinson Regstreeks contract comes as kykNET cancelled its breakfast weekday show Dagbreek, is dramatically downsizing on its very recently introduced late night timeslot strand, and axed its first and long running soap Villa Rosa without warning after 11 years.

Again, on Robinson Regstreeks, there's been no word from kykNET so far on this first, why the production company has been let go, who the new producer and production company is, and no response yet on a media enquiry about it.

Rumours that Freek Robinson, who is also a news anchor on eNuus, the Afrikaans TV news bulletin on kykNET supplied by e.tv's eNews division, is leaving eNuus.is not true. The anchor is staying with eNuus.

I can break the news that Freek Robinson will soon be doing double TV duty when his anchor job as news reader of the daily eNuus on kykNET (DStv 111) will get extended with a major second season renewal of his weekly actuality show on kykNET, Robinson Regstreeks.

After a brief first season of Robinson Regstreeks that started in January on kykNET, the channel decided to halt the production, as talks ramped up to create the new daily news bulletin eNuus that kykNET wanted Freek Robinson for. Because of the new work load, having to oversee the new bulletin and learning the eNews Channel's system and settling in, it would have been to much for Freek Robinson to continue doing Robinson Regstreeks as well on a weekly basis.

Now with eNuus stabilizing in terms of work flow I can tell you that Robinson Regstreeks will be back from Tuesday, October 5 and for 52 episodes. It means that Freek Robinson will basically be on eNuus - as well as fronting the weekly actuality show from Randburg for the next year.

The final episode of Fokus with anchor Freek Robinson is Sunday at 18:30 on SABC2.

After that -  from next Sunday - Lynette Francis will be taking over as the main presenter - something which SABC2 hasn't confirmed fficially yet, but is news that I broke RIGHT HERE.

Next week Freek Robinson will start his new news and actuality magazine show on kykNET, about which you can read more RIGHT HERE. On Tuesday, 12 January at 21:00 on kykNET (DStv 111) Robinson Regstreeks will start for an hour a week.

BREAKING. Fokus with Francis! Lynette Francis replaces Freek Robinson on Fokus.

SABC2 will still have to confirm the news, but Lynette Francis from Cape Town who has been with the SABC for a while after a stint in the publishing world, is replacing Freek in the Sunday evening half hour actuality show. Freek and Lynette will do a couple of shows together on-air before she starts to fly solo from Sunday, 17 January 2010.
