Viacom Africa's Comedy Central Roast of AKA on Comedy Central (DStv 121) has added Davido, Moshe Ndiki and Pierre van Pletzen as roaster panellists, in addition to the already announced Papa Penny, Joey Rasdien, Moonchild Sanelly as well as Mark Fish, Nina Hastie and Francois van Coke.

Viacom International Media Networks Africa (VIMN Africa) announced the third set of roasters who will be taking on the notorious rapper when the Comedy Central Roast of AKA is recorded on 21 February at The Teatro at Montecasino, Johannesburg with Pearl Thusi as the roastmaster.

The Comedy Central Roast of AKA (real name Kiernan Forbes) will be broadcast on Comedy Central, with the uncensored version going to MultiChoice's Showmax video streaming service.

 The Comedy Central Roast of AKA will be broadcast on Comedy Central on 11 March 2019, with an extended and uncut version that will be released a day later on Showmax on 12 March.

Davido (real name David Adedeji Adeleke) is the first Nigerian to ever join the Africa/South African version of Comedy Central Roast.

Pierre van Pletzen says "It feels wonderful to be part of the Comedy Central Roast of AKA, whom I'd like to address as the non-humble infamously popular rapper, about a few things; his no-show at performances, his knowledge of geography and since he says he loves soccer, I would like to ask if he's practising is technique by kicking fans off the stage?"

"I'm excited to be on the panel of the Comedy Central Roast of AKA, this may be the only time I can roast him since he's the king of roasting people on Twitter," says Mark Fish. "I can't wait to meet all of the panellists and make people laugh out loud. I think I'm a funny guy but this shall be revealed on the day."

Nina Hastie says "I'd love to see his mom Lynne Forbes on the panel, I doubt there's anyone who knows him better. I would roast him on skipping leg day the most. His whole leg is ankle. Maybe that's why he got a shoe sponsorship - because having a whole leg as an ankle makes a shoe look very special."

Francois van Coke says "I'm super amped to be part of AKA's roast. I hope they fly me up to Jozi business class. I have only been on one business class flight in my life and it was because of AKA".

Survivor South Africa Champions: Corné Krige and Mark Fish speak about stress and staying strong in the South China Sea.

Survivor South Africa: Champions kicks off today at 17:30 on M-Net (DStv 101), as the fifth season of the South African version of the reality format starts on an island in the South China Sea.

TV with Thinus asked the Survivor South Africa: Champions tribe leaders, Corné Krige and Mark Fish, their thoughts on the challenges ahead.

Do they have secret plans? What scares them the most about the upcoming experience? What do they think will irritate them the most, how did they prepare, and who is the last person they spoke to before they left South Africa? Read on for the answers to these and other questions ...

Do you have a secret plan to try and motivate and to keep the spirits high of your tribe?
Corné: Not really, as I have never been hungry. I think that hunger will become a motivator eventually.
Mark: I have no plans at all. We have to adapt to our surroundings together and whether it is humour, exercise, tears of joy or sadness, we shall give it our all.


What scares you most about this experience?
Corné: The uncertainty and the possibility of being hungry for long periods of time. I like my food!
Mark: Nothing at all. That's why I agreed to doing Survivor South Africa. I will be learning things about myself that I never knew or maybe just finding myself again. At least, I hope to.

Being a sportsman and having faced very stressful mental and physical moments and challenges in your career, what strategies are you going to try and use mentally, and how will you try and motivate and physiologically try to keep yourself from continuing and pushing on?
Corné: The best way to get through tough times is to be a close-knit family. I will try and get the team to feed off of each others' strengths. This will be crucial to success.
Mark: That is a tough one because I believe motivation comes from within. But I'm hoping that my team will feed off my relaxed ways and see when we compete that I will always give 150% to try and win. But win or lose, we do it together!

This is quite a departure from anything you've done before. Why did you say yes for this?
Corné: I'm not sure actually. Maybe the thrill of taking on a challenge totally different to anything I have ever done before.
Mark: I agreed because I have never done it before and I love a challenge.


Sand. Heat. Insects. Tribe members and cameras you can't escape from. What inescapable factors do you think might start to irritate you the most? 
Corné: Possibly the heat and the hunger.
Mark: Human nature because just as much as it always surprises us when people surpass their own expectations, we also get the fighting, arguing and people wanting to give up - the negative side of us humans which I just do not like!

Who is the last person you spoke to when you left South Africa and what did you say?
Corné: To my wife and children and I asked them to pray for me.
Mark: My pregnant fiancé Salomé and my daughter. I love them dearly and the thought of them will get me through the tough times ... for shizzle!

How did you prepare for this physically and mentally?
Corné: It is impossible to prepare for a challenge like Survivor. I want to take each day as it comes, with its own unique set of challenges.
Mark: No preparations, just training as usual. What I am training for is when you don't know what to expect. They always say about Survivor to "expect the unexpected" so that's the biggest thing.


Survivor South Africa: Champions starts today, and is on Sundays at 17:30 on M-Net (DStv 101) with various repeats during the week.

Survivor South Africa: Champions (encore) is on Saturdays on M-Net Series Zone (DStv 115) at 13:00.

Enter Survivor South Africa Champions on M-Net which will be filming for the entire month of October 2013 with Mark Fish and Corne Krige.

South Africans can now enter Survivor South Africa Champions, the next season in M-Net's local Survivor reality show version with 27 episodes which will be filmed during the entire month of October 2013 in an as yet undisclosed location with soccer player Mark Fish, and rugby player Corne Krige as tribe captains.

Contestants who want to enter the open casting process to possibly be selected for the Endemol South Africa produced reality show, will have to be available for the entire month of October 2013 and will have to have a passport valid until at least April 2014.

Nationwide auditions for Survivor South Africa Champions take place from 09:00 in Johannesburg on Thursday 1 August at the Indaba Hotel; in Cape Town on Thursday 8 August at the River Club; and in Durban on Thursday 15 August at the BAT Centre.

Contestants are advised to be there from 08:00 already to ensure an audition spot before the producers. Registration will close on 15:00 on the respective days.

Contestants need to be older than 18, be able to swim, healthy, and need to complete a registration form either before the time or fill it in there - and indicate as well whether you want to be on Mark Fish or Corne Krige's tribe.

Contestants attending the nationwide auditions can wear what they like. Contestants will be subjected to medical and psychological tests and background checks.

Contestants will need to motivate and tell a good story as to why they want to be on Survivor South Africa Champions and how and why you think you will be able to win.

Survivor South Africa is set to return to South African TV screens on M-Net for another season with Nico Panagio as host and two teams divided under either rugby player Corne Krige or soccer player Mark Fish as tribe captains.

The pay-TV broadcaster made the announcement on social media to journalists just before the lunch hour in a closed Facebook group after dropping hints and teaser questions since Thursday morning.

Always coy regarding contestants, M-Net teased that two South African sporting stars are included in the new crop of contestants before revealing that it will be Corne Krige and Mark Fish who will be heading up two tribes in Survivor South Africa: Champions. In a new twist, Corne Krige and Mark Fish won't be voted off.

Survivor South Africa: Champions will be filmed towards the end of 2013 at an as yet undisclosed location and will be done by the Endemol South Africa production company.

South African citizens older than 18 will be able to enter from the beginning of July for a possible place on Survivor South Africa: Champions to endure "the harshest of circumstances".

"Mark and Corne are both highly competitive and physically strong but have different personalities," says Pierre Cloete, M-Net director for general entertainment channels. "It will be fascinating to see how these tribe captains strategise to get their team ahead and how they deal with the multiple challenges on the island."

Sivan Pillay, the managing director of Endemol South Africa promises "many surprises" in the new season.

"Pitting two champions with the gravitas of Mark and Corne against each other opens up plenty of opportunities for curveballs and additional pressure on the contestants."

Mark Fish says he wants to be surrounded by individuals who "will showcase their individual qualities that will help the team progress".

Corne Krige says he likes "tribe members who are tough when the tough gets going and have a fighting spirit".
