e.tv shunts cancelled Kelders van Geheime back to original 6pm from 7 April in third timeslot change in a year

eMedia's e.tv channel is once again changing its programming line-up with the cancelled Afrikaans telenovela Kelders van Geheime moving back to its original timeslot at 18:00 from this evening.

e.tv moved Kelders van Geheime, currently in its second season, from 18:30 to 19:00 in January 2026. 

It means that the KFilms produced show shot in Franschhoek has had three different timeslots on the e.tv schedule in the short start since the start of 2026: 18:30, then 19:00 and now 18:00. 

The 18:00 timeslot is where Kelders van Geheime made its debut when it originally launched on e.tv.

e.tv didn't give any explanation for the latest move. 

e.tv said in an announcement that "This strategic change enhances e.tv's commitment to expanding its Afrikaans audience, ensuring a seamless flow of high-quality content throughout its programming.

The latest e.tv schedule change comes after the schedule change in January 2026, which comes a year after the last e.tv schedule change in March 2025.

e.tv is padding the schedule at 19:00 with a "rerun" of The Phoenix, which was shown on eVOD in 2024. 

e.tv hasn't done any PR for this cannabis farm drama series before its e.tv start, like arranging interviews or press pack materials or roundtables with the cast or crew. It's an eVOD Original that was created by Siphosethu Tshapu and was produced by The Milton Empire.

To make the latest e.tv schedule change in a sense more confusing, is that Kelders van Geheime will remain in its 19:30 timeslot on the eExtra (Openview 105 / DStv 195) channel.

The e.tv schedule from today will be Sout van die Aarde at 16:00, Yosef at 17:00, Kelders van Geheime at 18:00, e.tv News at 18:30, The Phoenix at 19:00, House of Zwide at 19:30, Scandal! at 20:00, Isitha - The Enemy at 20:30, Smoke & Mirrors at 21:00 (to be replaced with Emzini: A Family Legacy), Gold Diggers at 21:30 (repeat), and Ashes to Ashes at 22:00 (repeat).

Actor Phillip Henn dead at 63

Actor Phillip Henn died on Wednesday from bleeding on the brain. He was 63.

Phillip Henn's most recent on-screen TV role was in e.tv's Afrikaans telenovela Kelders van Geheime.

There's been no statement from e.tv or KFilms about Phillip Henn's death.

According to reports, Phillip Henn fell on Sunday at a house in Oesterbaai in the Eastern Cape and was taken to a hospital in Gqeberha.

According to his sister, he suffered from some type of attacks the previous 10 days due to a lack of oxygen to the brain.

In May last year Phillip Henn underwent 9-hour long heart bypass surgery.

Besides Kelders van Geheime, Phillip Henn is most well-known for his role as Johann Vorster in Egoli on M-Net (DStv 101), and later Chris van Deventer in Binnelanders on kykNET (DStv 144) and then as the character of Eben Swanepoel in Suidooster, also on kykNET.

Phillip Henn was an avid photographer and his novel, 500 Myl was published in 2019 about children fighting in the Anglo-Boer War.

He previously spoke about how his drug addiction stole 9 years of his life, and that he had already been using drugs while he was working on Egoli.

His brother died also died earlier this year. He leaves behind two sisters.

e.tv and eExtra shuffle primetime line-up as Kelders moves to Isiphetho's 18:30-timeslot from 7 April

From Monday 7 April after the end of Isiphetho, e.tv is changing the channel's primetime line-up, as well as the programming line-up of eExtra, with the Afrikaans telenovela Kelders van Geheime moving to the plum timeslot of 18:30.

From this coming Monday the KFilms-produced Kelders van Geheime will move from 18:00 to 18:30, with its second season starting a month from now on Monday 5 May.

With the 18:30-gap left by Isiphetho, both the e.tv and eExtra line-ups are staggered half an hour later. Dubbed telenovela Annekan Die Swa Kry at 17:00 on e.tv and eExtra moves to 17:30, with Kelders van Geheime at 18:30.

On e.tv House of Zwide, produced by Bomb Productions and Videovision Entertainment, remains at 19:00, with Ochre Moving Pictures' Scandal! that remains at 19:00 and the e.tv News that remains at 20:00.

On eExtra (DStv 195 / Openview 105) the dubbed Gelukbringers moves from 18:30 to 19:00, Doodsondes moves from 19:30 to 20:00 and Op Dun Ys moves from 20:30 to 21:00.

The new e.tv primetime line-up will now look like this:

16:30 Gelukbringers (until now at 16:00)

17:35 Annekan Die Swa Kry (until now 17:00)

18:30 Kelders van Geheime

19:00 House of Zwide

About the Kelders van Geheime timeslot change, Vuyelwa Booi, e.tv's head of local programming, says "We hope that this timeslot will be a better fit for lovers of Kelders as a lot of viewers have been asking for it a month after the show started airing in 2024".

"With Isiphetho coming to an end on Friday, 4 April it seems to be the best time for this change."

Helga Palmer, e.tv's head of content development and strategy, says "Kelders van Geheime is a hit with viewers and this timeslot change gives them a chance to settle in comfortably before the drama kicks off".
