BREAKING. Carol Manana resigns, quits the SABC as the presenter of SABC1's Sport on 1.

Carol Manana is joining the exodus of high profile TV talent dumping the SABC with the glam TV presenter of SABC Sport following in the footsteps of SABC3's Interface presenter Eusebius McKaiser by shutting the door in the beleaguered South African public broadcaster's face.

Carol Manana who presented SABC1's Sport on 1 and who've won numerous accolades for sport journalism, wrote a resignation letter telling the public broadcaster she's done. The SABC have not responded to a media enquiry made earlier today about Carol Manana, or the reasons she gave as to why she quit.

BREAKING. Trevor Noah and Carol Manana will anchor SABC1's Good Morning Mzansi breakfast show during the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament.

Trevor Noah and Carol Manana will be the two main anchors of Good Morning Mzansi, SABC1's special daily breakfast show that will run from mid June until mid July on the broadcaster during the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament.

Carol Manana was of course also the 2010 FIFA World Cup draw TV host earlier this year and is the face of SABC Sport on 1. Trevor Noah is a well-known comedian. I chatted to him when we ran into each other at the TopTV launch in Rosebank three weeks ago. Together they will co-anchor the new daily morning chatfest that got a test-run earlier this year on SABC1 during the Confederations Cup.

Good Morning Mzansi will debut on SABC1 on Monday, June 7 at 06:00. The live show will incorporate traffic reports as well as news about the matches and players all across the country, updates on stadiums, fan parks and general soccer news.
