SPOILER ALERT! How Binneland Sub Judice will ''end'' on M-Net before it continues as Binneland on kykNET.
You're reading it here first.
A unique occurence will be taking place this coming Friday that you have to try and watch. What would you do if you could ''end'' a TV show, but not really end it? What if you could create an ending to a storyline with a certain finality, but yet it will live on?
That is exactly what will be happening this coming Friday 1 April with Binneland Sub Judice when the M-Net soap ''ends'' and moves over to kykNET (DStv 111) to continue as just Binneland. The legal side of the storyline is dropped completely. So how will it all end? TV with Thinus knows how and what the ''final scene'' is as the soap bids goodbye to one half of the storyline. Do people die? Is there closure and does it happen organically? Nobody dies for one thing, and the ''end'' is poignant and must-see worthy.
If you don't want to know how Binneland Sub Judice ''ends'' on Friday 1 April on M-Net, before it continues as Binneland on kykNET, don't click on READ MORE below.

BREAKING. The new name of Binneland Sub Judice, previously known as Binnelanders, will be . . . Binneland. Without the 's'.
You're reading it here first.
I can exclusively reveal that the new name - the soap's third - when M-Net's Binneland Sub Judice moves from the pay broadcaster to kykNET (DStv 111) in April will be . . . Binneland.
Binneland Sub Judice will not return to its original name of Binnelanders but according to multiple sources familiar with the new name choice, will drop the ''s'' to only be known as Binneland.
Binneland that will drop the legal side of its story universe and revert back to only a half hour show as I told you in August RIGHT HERE, will still have subtitles in English although its on the Afrikaans satellite channel. ''Binneland on kykNET will have subtitling in English so that hopefully English speaking fans will cross over and continue following their favourite soap,'' another high level source close to the Stark Films production tells me.

BREAKING. Awesome and evil: Camilla Waldman joins Binneland Sub Judice as vengeful Fabiana Castignini.
You're reading it here first.
I can exclusively break the news that Camilla Waldman is joining the M-Net soap Binneland Sub Judice as a delicious new evil character named Fabiana Castignini.
The fab character that Camilla Waldman is already playing to the hilt, is going to create utter and complete havoc in the lives of the characters of the soap set in Pretoria and major drama (and is that an upcoming death?) in terms of storylines are already playing out at Stark Studios where the soap is shot as Fabiana is going to go all out to seek revenge (Against whom? And for what? Patience, people. Let me just say its delicious.)
Camilla Waldman who cemented herself as a soap queen of note playing the scheming Anne de Villiers - high class brothel madam in SABC1's Generations until June 2008, will show up in Binneland Sub Judice later in September, starting out all innocently, but plotting right from the beginning. Hmmm. Sounds very much like another evil De Villiers elsewhere in soap land.

BREAKING. Binneland Sub Judice flatlines on M-Net: soap's law world gets dumped, show back to half an hour when it goes to kykNET.
You're reading it here first.
Binneland Sub Judice is flatlining on M-Net with the broadcaster that's decided to get rid of the last soapie left on its schedule after Egoli got canned in April. Binneland Sub Judice will live on on kykNET (DStv 111) but like any thorough lobotomy the failed upsized soap will be half of what it's now. I've got all the details and the news, and can bring you the reaction - straight from the set - first.
Binneland Sub Judice will completely drop the new legal universe that was added in April this year when Binnelanders changed to Binneland Sub Judice and expanded from half an hour to an hour. The soap that will now share schedule space on kykNET (that already has Villa Rosa) will go back to only being half an hour. The name will probably change back to just Binnelanders sources tell me exclusively. ''The cut-and-thrust legal universe, which was introduced earlier this year . . . will not form part of the half hour kykNET soap as of April next year,'' says M-Net that's putting a stake into Binneland Sub Judice less than five months after viewers saw the show being supersized.
I heard rumours about M-Net's turn-around and wanting to get rid of Binnelanders Sub Judice a while ago, but nobody wanted to talk about it. When Binnelanders Sub Judice moves to M-Net in April 2011 it will be exactly a year after Egoli had that ridiculous anti-climactic Louwna-at-the-bottom-of-the-staircase final episode. ''The changes to Binneland Sub Judice form part of M-Net's long-term strategy to create tailor-made channels for different target audiences on different platforms,'' says Theo Erasmus, director of M-Net's general entertainment channels. ''In the fast changing world of television, it's important to research the needs of viewers constantly, and to nip and tuck our channel and programme offerings accordingly,'' he says. That means that the Binneland Sub Judice attempt failed and that M-Net is getting rid of it.
It's somewhat confusing in a technical broadcast way, but I'll tell you anyway: the few thousand M-Net subscribers who are analogue viewers (i.e. watching M-Net on an analogue decoder and not as a DStv channel, will still be able to see Binneland Sub Judice or Binnelanders after April next year. The ''real'' M-Net (DStv 101) will fill the hour with a new soap or other fare, while the show will be broadcast separately to the analogue decoders.
I can exclusively reveal that the Binneland Sub Judice cast and crew were informed yesterday that they're moving to kykNET and that the soap will go back to half an hour. I can also tell you that behind the scenes the producers have been struggling (although I don't mean struggle as in a bad way) to try and successfully integrate the new legal universe with the existing hospital universe. They also struggled with the pacing of the soap that suddenly expanded to an hour, so some of the news are actually a relieve at the new Stark Studios where Binneland Sub Judice is being shot. I can also tell you that there is still hope for the failed Sub Judice half. On set sources tell me that by latest October they will know the fate of the other half - which could be developed into a whole new show on either M-Net (a second attempt just focusing on the legal world) or kykNET (doubtful).
''The show going out won't change too much with the move to kykNET,'' a set source told me earlier today. ''We'll go back to the Binnelanders we were before Binneland Sub Judice,'' another one said. ''The biggest change will probably be that we'll be able to finish by four in the afternoon instead of seven,'' said a third on set tipster. ''People on set are too busy to really think about what we're thinking about this. The announcement didn't create any kind of uproar amongst members of the cast or crew. Nobody is unhappy. There shouldn't be major script changes either. At the end of the day it will all be fine,'' I was told.

BREAKING. M-Net dumping Binneland Sub Judice; moving the weekday soap exclusively to kykNET from April.
You're reading it here first.
M-Net is dumping its only remaining local soap Binneland Sub Judice which is currently also shown on kykNET (DStv 111) and which will become a kykNET-only TV show from April next year.
Binneland Sub Judice, currently an hour on weekdays, will also be cut back to half an hour on weekdays once the show leaves M-Net. ''The changes to Binneland Sub Judice form part of M-Net's long-term strategy to create tailor-made channels for different target audiences on different platforms,'' says Theo Erasmus, director: M-Net general entertainment channels.
I will have more on this developing story later today.

SNEAK PEAK! See and hear the wonderful new Binneland Sub Judice opening theme song.
You're seeing it here first.
Binnelanders on M-Net will switch over to Binneland Sub Judice at 18:00 this evening and I can exclusively show you the brand-new and wonderful opening theme song.
I was shown this brand-new opening theme song a month ago in a private cinema/editing suite and immediately loved it. I told you a bit about it RIGHT HERE and how it's adapting the original with a saxophone, ditching the vocals and infusing it with legal symbols.
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW. From Binnelanders to Binneland Sub Judice: ''All that's important is, will viewers want to see it?'' says producer Elsje Stark.
You're reading it here first.
Binnelanders will be changing today at 18:00 on M-Net to an hour long weekday soapie, Binneland Sub Judice. At the launch of the new show at its new home in the the new high-definition ready Stark Studios in Fountainebleau, Randburg, I spoke to Elsje Stark, producer of Stark Films.
I asked her what her hopes are for the newer, longer and improved Binneland Sub Judice and how far in advance the show is now shooting. Elsje Stark shares the benefits of the new Stark Studios, why Binneland Sub Judice branches out into specifically a legal universe, the challenges of keeping the legal and medical world's together and how she sees this new chapter of the TV show.

FIRST LOOK! Binneland Sub Judice's complete new legal set section revealed.
You're seeing the complete sets set here first.
Yesterday I was first RIGHT HERE to show you the complete and beautiful hospital section of the new Binneland Sub Judice sets as they've been rebuild and constructed at Stark Studios and that viewers will see from Monday, 5 April at 18:00 on M-Net.
Of course the new name of the weekday M-Net soapie means that there's a whole new legal part that's being incorporated into the show - the offices and legal environment centered around RPK Incorporated: the law office of Rossouw, Paulse and Knight Incorporated, the restaurant, Pretoria open air plaza, as well as jewellery shop and other walkthrough spaces around that.
If you want to see a complete walk through with set pics of the new law side and legal environment of Binneland Sub Judice, click on READ MORE below.

FIRST LOOK! New Binneland Sub Judice sets now bigger and better than Grey's Anatomy.
You're seeing it here first.
I can show you wonderful brand-new photos that I took of the brand-new hospital section of the Binneland Sub Judice soapie on M-Net that viewers will start to see from Monday, 5 April at 18:00 on M-Net when the daily soap becomes an hour long on weekdays with the new name.
I was on the Binnelanders sets when the soap started in 2005, I was on the Grey's Anatomy sets in Los Angeles during a set visit there and I was on the brand-new Binneland Sub Judice sets on Thursday.
I can now tell you that the new Binneland Sub Judice hospital section is . . . much bigger and much more vast that Grey's Anatomy which is a weekly top ten show in America. And then there's still a whole new legal side set section as well. Super impressive for a local South African TV production! Well done to Stark Films and M-Net for going bigger and better.

Binneland Sub Judice's brand new title sequence with a wonderful saxophone!
You're reading it here first.
I'm in love. I love and collect TV theme songs and I just saw the BRAND NEW opening theme, opening title and theme song for Binneland Sub Judice that will debut on M-Net on Monday, 5 April at 18:00 when Binnelanders change to Binneland Sub Judice and becomes a daily hour long show.
I simply LOVE the new opening theme, the music and the feeling that the images, title montage and sound evoke. Here is what I can exclusively reveal:
Gone is the Jak de Priester lyrics in the great new theme song. Binneland Sub Judice has done away with the singing and has opted for a completely instrumental version, but the original song is still there - although slightly adapted and rerecorded. It's still brilliant though - even better than before!
Law images - from law books and buildings to give an institutionalized look and feel - are now incorporated into the title sequence. Look closely and you'll still see purple Jacaranda tree blossoms on the steps, although not tumbling down as it did in the original. Utterly wonderful is the flowing, sweeping and mesmerising saxophone that you'll hear in the song which is just remarkable and extremely well done. The saxophone is offset by beautiful, instrumental piano music and a violin with lingering, yet staccato piano notes playing out the end of the theme song.

BREAKING. Binnelanders changing to Binneland Sub Judice says M-Net.
You're reading it here first.
Binnelanders is changing the soapie's name to Binneland Sub Judice in April, says M-Net.
Binnelanders on M-Net will be changing its name sometime in April from Binnelanders to Binneland Sub Judice.
''Binnelanders becomes Binneland Sub Judice, a new one hour episode,'' says M-Net in the brand-new on-air promo.
The new on-air promo scrolls over all the new shows coming in March, April and May on the pay broadcaster as well as the Idols auditions starting countrywide in South Africa during April. Other things viewers can look forward to in April on M-Net is the Survivor SA Santa Carolina finale that will be broadcast live, The In-Crowd returns and there is according to the promo the second season of 90210. In May ''things really start to heat up'' with CSI: NY season 6 and Damages with the third season.
I have asked M-Net about the Binnelanders name change to Binneland Sub Judice and if I get more info I will post it here. There is also no word yet on how the Binnelanders theme song by Jak de Priester will be changing, if it changes.
